| YOU
CAN HELP
Each year an estimated 4 to 6
million unwanted dogs and cats are killed in shelters. There simply aren't
enough good homes for them all. Dogs and cats that are left unspayed or
unneutered continue to produce. Females at five months old start having
two to four litters a year. Males at seven months can start roaming, fighting
and mating, causing many litters per year. One dog or cat having two litters
a year with just two pups or kittens surviving to reproduce can create
6,561 offspring in only four years. There just aren't enough homes to
adopt all of these animals. Preventing their birth by having your pet
spayed or neutered is the only solution. It's simple, humane and cost-effective.

"Sponsor
a Shelter Pet":
|
An individual or business can make
a $50.00 donation to Richmond Hero to sponsor a cat or dog
in a local shelter. The pet can be sponsored in honor of or
in memory of a love one, pet, etc. The donation will cover
the cost of a rabies shot and the spay/neuter fee for the
animal. A sign will be placed on the animals cage with the
sponsors name. The animal is highlighted at the shelter to
be adopted quickly.
