below are from the Virginia State Veterinarian's Office (Website).
Richmond HERO's goal is to lower these numbers by promoting and educating
the public about spaying or neutering their animals. How much lower
could these statistics have been for cats and dogs through spay or
neuter? They are slowly decreasing and hopefully with the publics
help these numbers will continue to decrease, but we have a long way
to go!
I have also added a column for equine that were euthanized.
